The Basics of a Honda Civic Turbo Kit:
A turbo kit comes with all the necessary parts to install a turbo charger in your civic. A Civic turbo kit is the optimal way to get horsepower gains. For most of the Civic application you will get an approximate 80 horsepower increase by installing a honda civic turbo kit. A turbo kit is not a simple install, so if you are not mechanically inclined you will need professional help.

How a Civic Turbo Kit Works
A turbocharger uses the exhaust fumes that are coming out of your engine to spin a turbine. The turbine is connected to an air compressor, which in turn is connected to the air intake portion of a Civic's engine. Why does the compressed air give your Civic more power? Compressing the air going into your pistons allow for more room for gasoline to fit into your Civics's cylinders as well as increases the amount of pressure pushing against the pistons top (think pumping a super soaker).

The amount that the air is compressed is measured by pounds per square inch or often referred to as PSI. All the Civic turbo kits we sell come stock at around 6 PSI which is an amount of pressure that a Civics engine internals can safely handle. Most turbochargers that come with the Honda Civic turbo kits allows for an increase of a total of 20 PSI. A higher amount of PSI means more power being put out by your Civic's engine. Why not pump up the PSI to the max? Simply put, your engine could not handle it without reinforcing the engine internals. Which brings me to the next point, once you have a turbo kit installed on your Civic the only thing limiting how much power you can pump out of your Civic's engine is the amount of gasoline being delivered into the engine, and how much power your Civics's engine can handle.
