OEM intercoolers are often incapable of cooling the air coming in to the engine effectively, which can result in a loss of power and even engine failure in extreme cases. The Mishimoto upgrade kits come with an intercooler designed to work with modified turbo applications where the factory intercooler is just not able to keep up with the added heat.
