Skunk2 Alpha Series valves are made from HNV-3 martensitic steel (IN) and EV8 austenitic steel (EX) one-piece forgings, which are then heat-treated using a proprietary heat treatment process. After the treatment, a hard chrome coating is applied to reduce friction and increase wear resistance. Skunk2 Alpha Series valves are lightweight, durable, and offer excellent heat and corrosion resistance.
Skunk2 Racing valves are available in stock and high compression versions. The high compression version DOES NOT mean you can only use it with high compression engines. It simply means that each valve has a flat-bottom which slightly raises your engine's overall compression ratio (by about 0.3 to 0.5 points).
