The HKS Hipermax IV SP full coilover is the new sports version of the robust Hipermax line. Designed for the more spirited driver, it is much stiffer than its counterpart the GT IV while still maintaining the great comfort features. The stiffer spring rates make it perfect for the track, but still maintain a tame nature for the street. The Monotube dampers offer precise control, keeping your Honda Civic planted during corners but keeping the ride comfortable while cruising. The new "M Shaft" technology used in the shock assembly uses a special oil and a larger diameter shaft, this is prominently used in the rear where most of the force goes to, this changes the characteristics of the vehicle when launching and cornering.
Aside from the stiffer springs, the dampeners are slightly reworked as well. A stronger rebound force and 30-way adjustability allows you to tailor the ride to your taste. A pillow-ball mount (on most applications) keeps things rock solid while also maintaining any rattles and unwanted noises out. Newly re-designed needle valving has improved low, medium, and high speed dampening to provide better comfort when lowered and supreme handling in all conditions. Ride height and spring rates are adjusted separately, this allows you to lower the vehicle without effecting the spring pre-load ratings and maintaining even pressure on all corners. A special PNE coating helps prevent corrosion and debris build up to keep coil threads clean for easy adjustment and aluminum lower mounts and perches keep unsprung weight to a minimum.

Ride Height Adjustment Notes: Normally, vehicle ride height is adjusted by reducing or increasing the pre-load on the coil spring. This method leads to inconsistent spring rates that are dependent upon the vehicle ride height. These coilovers allow you to adjust your vehicle's ride height independent of its spring pre-load. This method ensures that the spring rate is always consistent, no matter how high or low your car is. In addition, it ensures that the spring is always properly positioned onto the strut and effectively reduces miscellaneous and unnecessary noise.
Pillow-Ball Upper Mounts: These are included on select applications. They will help tighten up your ride and give you quicker steering response. Also, many include a built-in front camber adjustment plate as well so you can quickly and easily dial in front camber to your liking.
