Directed Electronics Hornet Remote Start Security System Description
The Directed Electronics Hornet Remote Start Security System is a rock-solid, proven car security security system that will protect your Civic from would-be thieves. This particular model is the best version of the Hornet system available. It has an array of advanced security features and technology, including a built-in turbo timer, that really put it above the competition.

This 2-way system comes with a small transceiver unit with an LCD screen that alerts you when someone hits or tries to break into to your vehicle! The remote start unit that comes with this system can be programmed to come on at a certain time and temperature, which is perfect for cold climates. Even in warm climates, the remote start is a great convenience feature, and is sure to impress onlookers.

Directed Electronics security systems are top-of-the-line quality, and will not break or malfunction even after years of use (unlike many other alarm systems). Directed Electronics parts are so good that they are even used in some OEM security systems.

Immobilizer Notes: You will need the immobilier bypass unit if you want to use the remote start feature and have a 2001 or newer Civic. The bypass unit will only disable your immobilizer system for a split second while it starts your engine. The bypass unit you will get is specific to Civics and certain other Honda/Acura vehicles. DO NOT purchase the "universal" bypass unit from another store because it will not work as intended.

Neutral Safety Switch Notes: You will need to purchase the "Neutral Safety Switch" if you have a manual transmission and you want the remote start function to work.
