AEM EMS (Engine Management System) Description

We only sell the Plug and Play versions of the AEM EMS systems, which include all hardware and harnesses for a very easy installation. All AEM EMS systems are for manual transmissions only.

AEM's Plug & Play Engine Management System (EMS) is the first of its kind and will forever change the way you look at tuning your Civic! This unit is considered the best standalone EMS on the market, period. What is a standalone EMS? It is a system that completely replaces your factory ECU, and allows you to fine tune virtually anything in your engine. This is in contrast to a "piggy-back" unit, which essentially rides on the back of your factory ECU and is considered to be not nearly as powerful as a full standalone system.

The AEM EMS plugs directly into your vehicle's factory engine harness and requires no additional wiring or hardware. Microsoft Windows compatible software makes the task of copying, viewing and manipulating data as simple as a click of the mouse. An integrated tuning wizard allows you to create a base map specifically for your configuration, regardless of what type of injectors, sensors, coils or other changes have been made. The AEM EMS's infinitely adjustable software allows your to program virtually any combination of engine control, power adders and auxiliary devices, and accurately delivers proper amounts of fuel and correct ignition timing for any boost level or operating condition.

UEGO Notes: Some EMS models come with a built-in wideband UEGO controller, which saves a little space and makes for a cleaner installation (the price is the same if you bought the controller separately and plugged it into the EMS). If you have a heavily modified setup or you want to really tune your motor away from stock settings, you definitely need a UEGO to make sure you are not running too lean or rich. Heavily modified vehicles may also benefit from using some of the optional AEM sensors, as your stock sensors may not be good enough.
