Turbo Specialties (TSI) R18 Extreme Turbo Kit Description
NEW: This "Version 2" R18 Turbo Kit features revised intake piping and we now also offer a Hondata FlashPro (with base map) as a tuning option for this turbo kit. If you do not purchase the FlashPro, you will need some other type of tuning solution to properly run this turbo kit on your Civic.

Update: The Hondata FlashPro now works with MANUAL and AUTOMATIC transmission R18 Honda Civics.

If you are looking for the ultimate in high performance for your R18 Civic, then the Turbo Specialties (TSI) R18 Extreme Turbo Kit is for you. The R18 Extreme Turbo Kit is designed to take your 2006 to 2011 Honda Civic DX/LX/EX coupe or sedan to a whole new level of power. This turbo kit provides more than enough power for even the most demanding customers, but is also tuned with the daily driver in mind. The installation is completely bolt on and will work with stock engine internals. In all their kits, TSI uses Garrett turbos, which are world renowned for their reliability and performance.

With just a larger exhaust installed, the TSI R18 Extreme Turbo Kit makes about 210 wheel horsepower. This translates to about 230 hp at the flywheel, compared to 140 flywheel hp for a stock R18 Civic. This is over a 60% increase in power on a stock engine block! What's more impressive are the torque figures: about 205 lb-ft of torque as early as 3000 RPM. With a TSI R18 Turbo Kit, you should be able to blow past a Civic Si without a problem. In fact, TSI's tests showed that their R18 Turbo Civic was only a bit slower than a 2003 BMW M3 equipped with an exhaust and performance chip! Key Features:
  • Comes standard with a Garrett GT25 turbo (internal wastegate set to 6-7 PSI).
  • Bolt-on installation.
  • Safely products about a 64% gain in horsepower on stock engine internals! The new turbo we now include bumps the power to about 230 horsepower on your 2006 to 2011 Honda Civic DX/LX/EX. To get these advertised gains you should install a larger exhaust than the factory one. More power is possible if you turn up the boost and re-tune your car (assuming you do not max out the turbo's capabilities). See the Dyno Results (keep in mind this R18 Civic does have a larger exhaust than stock).
  • High quality cast manifold that comes preassembled on Garrett turbo. Cast manifold replaces stock catalytic converter for optimal performance. If you want to add a catalytic converter, we recommend using one of our MagnaFlow Spun Metallic High Flow Catalytic Converters.
  • Turbo is oil and water cooled for best performance and durability.
  • Due to the efficiency of the turbo system, has the potential to increase your MPG and reduce vehicle emissions (your tune, other modifications, and driving style will have a large effect on this).
  • 4 optional high-performance Honda 410 cc/min fuel injectors with clips. These Honda injectors are special in that they are designed for turbo vehicles and have very good fuel atomization properties.
  • The optional Hondata FlashPro tuning solution (with base map) works right out of the box. Despite coming with a base map, you may find that some minor tuning adjustments are necessary.
  • Downpipe and gasket.
  • Polished charge piping.
  • High-flow intercooler.
  • Stainless steel braided oil line and fittings.
  • Stainless steel braided water lines for turbo cooling.
  • Blow off valve (recirculating).
  • Now works with your factory heat shield (the heat shield in the picture is no longer included).
  • High-performance air intake and filter.
  • Oil return hose and oil pan fitting.
  • Compatible with accessories (including A/C).
  • All hardware, pressure lines, hoses, clamps, and couplers.
  • Installation instructions.
  • 5 year warranty on cast parts, 1 year for accessories, and the full Garrett manufacturer's warranty for the turbo.
Optional Parts: We suggest getting at least some sort of boost gauge so you know if your boost level is on target or not. You may also want to purchase a turbo timer as a convenience feature. If you do not purchase one, then you should let your car idle for about 2 minutes before shutting it off after a normal driving period. Lastly, if you remove your catalytic converter as part of the turbo installation, you may want to purchase an O2 Sensor CEL Eliminator if you get a CEL (Check Engine Light).

GT25R Ball Bearing Turbo Upgrade Notes: Compared to the standard journal bearing turbo that comes with this kit, a ball bearing turbo will "spool up" faster and start delivering power at lower RPMs. If you select this upgrade, we will include a Garrett GT25R ball bearing turbo (with built-in oil restrictor) with your turbo kit.

Other Recommendations: No matter which tuning solution you use, we still HIGHLY recommend getting your Civic tuned by a professional. This is the best way to achieve maximum power gains and make sure everything is running correctly. We also advise running premium fuel (91 octane or better) and purchasing a set of 1 step colder spark plugs (Denso Iridiums perform the best).
