GT SPEC Tie Bar Description

GT SPEC tie bars offer the perfect solution for drivers who take their vehicles to the track on weekends or simply demand better handling and response on their daily driven vehicle. GT SPEC chassis reinforcement products are designed and engineered to correct and improve your vehicle's geometry for superb handling and response, resulting in the ultimate driving sensation. GT SPEC tie bars are generally smaller, lighter and easier to install than larger multi-point chassis braces.

Production cars are spot welded on the assembly line. This process is lower in cost and allows more flex to be absorbed by the chassis (instead of the suspension components alone) to create a more comfortable but "mushy" ride. However, chassis flex needs to be minimized in order to maximize response and efficiency in a vehicle's handling. This is why stitch welding, or seamless welds of vehicle panel seams, are often the hidden groundwork when building a performance car.

During heavy cornering, your strut towers can flex in/out and twist, leaving you with sloppy response and in-accurate steering feedback. Flexing and twisting of the chassis will also upset the vehicle's alignment, as well as the balance of the vehicle while cornering due to multiple steering corrections. Installing chassis bracing will prevent/minimize this issue by transferring and balancing the G force under weight shift conditions, providing direct handling feedback to the driver in order to provide crisp accurate steering response.
