About DC Sports In 1987, American Honda commissioned fabrication experts (and twin brothers) Darrell and Darrick Contreras to create a race header for a 1988 Honda CRX racecar. Utilizing technology and quality control ahead of its time for most small fabricators, the brother's attention to detail and commitment to performance with this system was not overlooked by Honda, who asked them to develop competition headers for other applications. This chance opportunity for the Contreras brothers marked the beginning of DC Sports.
Throughout the 1990s, DC Sports became synonymous with Honda and Acura performance by expanding its products to include street-legal and competition headers, exhaust systems, strut braces, short shifters and accessories. Through a combination of leading-edge manufacturing procedures designed specifically for the company's processes and a strict adherence to quality control, DC Sports became the brand of choice for Honda/Acura racers.
